Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite opens with a juniper, cranberry and dark plum bouquet with hints of cola and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty mild mineral infused red plum and cranberry blend with notes of apple skin and oak. We also detect hints of cinnamon, white pepper, red cherry and mocha mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity and fine tannins drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with a sage and garlic pork tenderloin. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 Redwoods' Edge may be our most aromatic yet, which is saying quite a lot. Lush violet, rose petal, dried cranberry and cherry burst from the glass, joined over time by rich notes of clove, cinnamon, dark chocolate and vanilla. The mouthfeel is an intense profusion of red berry, brown spice and vanillin oak buoyed through the long finish by racy acidity. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 8-12 years.
